What's Working (and not so much...) Wednesday!

What's Working:

1. Rockin' inexpensive pedicure!

2. I've been following MissZippy's pursuit, and have ran sans my orthotics and walked barefoot in the house now for 3 days, and my feet feel the same if not better than with orthotics. Obviously, the verdict is still out, but I'm over mentally coddling my lil' toes/feet for the moment.
3. Packages are awesome. Especially when they have my junkie style addicting Ultramet Vanilla Bean Protein Shake. Initially, I was informed Ultramet was out of stock, via the manufacture itself, and I swear I went into a virtual frenzy! I quickly Googled and found this stash through Champion Nutrition. ah...deep breath. sweet. And they delivered quickly. Double sweet. (my sweet morning coffee...)

And now...not so much...

1. Stretching, or lack thereof...
I stumbled upon this book a few weeks back, and finally perused it last night. It was a good reminder to incorporate stretching in my daily life, my running, and coaching my run groups. And oooh look! I just stretched my shoulders as I typed! (oh yah...you can't see me...)

So there ya have it for me. Sure, I have other things on my docket that I could mention, but they each deserve their own post down the road;) Now...my question for you...What's Working and maybe not so much? Talk to me, talk to me! Would love to know!

What's up- feeling great during my last two days of taper, fresh and alive!

What's not- big rain forecast for both Friday and Saturday (race morning), this means wet muddy trails.

You know, I have never had a pedicure...Whats' up with that?

I have that same stretching book :-)

What's working for me? STRETCHING! It is something I FOUGHT for so long, but now that I'm doing it, my life is much better!

Love the color of the polish!

What's not working....my stupid toe issue! What's working? I'm pushing through anyway. May cause a problem later though. Tough call!

I need to start stretching too! I'm really bad at that!

Hi Anne Marie,
Your toes look so beautiful! I love the color and it makes me want to go in and get mine done too:)

Training in general is not working for me...lack of motivation and desire. Looking forward to spring in hopes that it will change my outlook:)

Maybe I have a strange case of PF, but I've never really had any issues walking around barefoot--even when it was at its worst.

What's working? The food in San Antonio!

What's not working? The diet!

My take on barefoot living is that it had worked for us for millennia just fine. Now true, our muscles got atrophied so we need to re-learn how to go barefoot again, but it is a natural way to live.

Not working: PF type issues, but they are finally gone, running again tomorrow!

Yay for pedicures! :)

What's not working- resting my foot when it's beautiful outside and I just want to go out and RUN! (or walk, at the least...)

What's working- "green smoothies" with fresh spinach, frozen berries, yogurt, and almond milk. my new favorite way to get my green veggies in... and you can't even tell the spinach is there!

your toes looks so pretty, makes me want to go get mine done!
What's working - running with no shin splints finally, yay!
What's not working - being stuck at work and not being able to run outside today, it's a nice day.

Your newly freed feet look spectacular with their pedicure! I always do my own...it's not so far off the real deal, is it?

Glad the foot experiment is working so far.
I have that same stretching book, and I NEVER use it. I know I should.

I am also going to give myself an inexpensive pedi tonight :-)

I am a bad stretcher too!! AND I ditched the orthotics last summer after an injury and haven't turned back or regretted it...just saying, I think it helps.
Working:

*really early bed time!

*co-workers who make life easier!

*library books (sooo happy to be studying again!)

Improvements Underway:

*more daily h20 intake (slacked a bit the last few days....)

*remembering the little things... and being happy with/for them..

*trusting that if stuff is needed, it will be... (aka patience, perserverance, and prayer)

Yay for pedicures! I got a manicure last week for the first time in ages, and it was awesome. When I start working again, I think that'll become a monthly indulgence :)

I love your pedicure! I need one so bad...my feet are pretty gross right now!

Aww..I love to stretch. I know some people believe that stretching isn't necessary, but for me, it just feels better after I stretch.

I am in serious need of a pedicure...I mean serious...I really should not let my toes be seen...but they were .... all over Florida..and I guarantee their were a few women who thought..."I would never let my toes look like that!" =)
Packages are a fav of mine...I love ordering on the internet..just to get a package...it makes me feel loved...I am pretty sure amazon is a BBF! ;)
Have a great week!
Your toes look amazing--how do you do that?!! Here's what's working--yoga. I am incorporating it into my routine and my legs feel so much better on speed days.

Do you drink Ultramet with coffee only or can it stand on it's own??

Did you hire a foot model? Those toes cannot belong to a runner. haha! Mine do NOT look like that and i usually blame the running, but I guess I can't do that anymore. Also... SWEET coffee mug! Love it!
