What's Working (and not so much...) Wednesday!

1. Speedwork. I can't believe it's at the top of my list this week, but it's true. I went for a speed workout on Saturday, and my times were ~8-9 seconds faster per 400 than they were back in ~September. I couldn't believe it?? That's a lot o' time shaved per 400. So...I have my speed workout slated for this am, and I'm eager to see if this improvement shows up in my 800's as well...(uuhhh....speedwork update! Yah, about that ~8 secs faster. Noooo did NOT see that improvement in my 800's this am. I'm a lil' faster...but by maybe 1 sec! Aw well;-)

2. Clean Closet: I know this isn't a Better Homes and Garden blog, but I had to show off the status of the closet  It's F.I.N.A.L.L.Y cleaned! And don't ya love b4/after shots. Always good for a lil' motivation.  Ahh....sanity has been (semi) restored over here! Can ya relate?

3. More ME Time: I've been goin' to bed early and therefore waking up early which = more me time each morning. And it's been really nice...;=)

And not so much...

1. Keeping up with my annual health check ups. Let's just say I've been pretty REALLY bad w/the annual maintenance of my body, and I'm shakin' my head like WTF AM! You'd think with my love for keepin' a list and checkin' it twice, I'd have those things on it. Well I haven't and I'm now scurrying around making appts here and there. oy.

So...that's what's workin' and not so much for me over here. Now you...What's workin' and not so much for YOU this week? Would love to know! Talk to me, talk to me!;-)

I had a major win this week when I launched the website I have been working on for several months. Now onto the next one...

Congrats on the new speed, Ms. Speedy!

Feels so good to have a clean closet. When I break down and do that I keep going back to look at my creation. Very satisfying.

9 seconds is an impressive improvement. Congrats!

I've got a lot of good things going on right now, but the one that's not working is bedtime. I need to better enforce my curfew!

I saw the first picture and thought it looked pretty good compared to my closets. I suppose that's the next project I need to tackle.

Nice job on the speedwork. It pays off big time for me.
Working:

*Mother Nature Gifts! The DC area is to get a pretty nasty storm, and our Superintendent closed school for the day in advance (along with most other MD and VA counties except Arlington and DCPS). ... The Feds are even on an 2-hour early release!

*Mid-morning nap. The semester has taken its toll, I've been ramping up work outs, and I snuck in a trip to use a coupon for Almond Dream ice cream this morning. After all of that, naturally, a mid-morning nap was needed on a no school day.

*Writing- even bits of it are getting to where they need to be.

*Yrbk sales- holy smokes!

*More trail time- making a concerted effort to get out there for more time and do it!

*Diet- massive improvements and the pay offs! :-)

*New recipe fun- sticking with my goal of 1 new recipe a week. I think I'm up to 7 for 2011 and there have been some "I will make again" ones! :-)

*Rest- did I mention this no school day?

*Capital Weather Gang- shameless plug, but if you live in this area (or are traveling to the DC metro area)- it's a really great group!

Witty comments, great pictures, and lots of learning abound!

Needs Improvement:

*More rest. I need to give it to me!

*More writing. Snow should help this! :-)

Lovin' life and waitin' on the white, the thunder, and praying that the drivers will be safe...and the sirens that echo past my place to a hospital will be minimal tonight and tomorrow!

YAY you speedy!!

look at that closet. jealous.

Me time = awesome.

now go schedule those aptmts. ;)
My goal for the week was to start adding short runs to my other workouts, and I am excited that I have been! Monday and today I ran a mile both before and after an hour spin class. May not seem like much, but to me to run a mile AFTER spin was killer hard but I did it (twice!)

I am bad about doctors too, really bad. Inspire me with tales of you actually going, ha ha.

I love having a clean, organized closet! It's the greatest thing ever!
I hear you about the appointments. I've been due for my annual blood test for a LONG time and I just need to go get it done!

WTG with the speediness! And the cleaning! (your "before' looks like my 'after') And I am so impressed with your getting to bed earlier... and up earlier! Hope the appointments go well.

My speedwork is what both is and isn't working for me. I've gotten noticeably faster but I can tell it's heading me for injury. I plan to only do it once every other week instead of every week and see how that goes.

And I need to tackle some cleaning and organization projects and get to bed earlier. I am learning lessons from you... the MASTER!

I love the clean closet! what's not working for me this week is work/life balance, too much work, not enough life.
Great speedwork and love that you are taking "you" time.....greatly deserved!

Love the closet! Love love before/after shots.
I need to clean my closet. It's like my closet is throwing up clothes. It's so gross!

I can totally relate! Cleaning and organising your storage is VERY cathartic lol
Yay for being faster at your 400's! This is awesome. I wish my closet was more organized. We are redoing all our molding and kitchen cabinets in the house so maybe my closet will be next. Who knows, with the half a bottle of wine i just drank, I might be ready for cleaning it now! wooo hoo. And Yes, more ME time is essential...I need to waker up earlier. Great to be back catching up on your wonderful bloggy blog!
