GFTW Fifty One: Do You Remember This Feeling?

Remember this feeling? The one where the whole world is perfect under the Christmas tree? Where's there's no where else you'd rather be than with your blanky and makeshift nightstand for all eternity. Yeah, I don't wanna forget it either. Because to me THIS is what it's all about. And my kids are only four and eleven/twelfths once, and this Season is pure magic to them. So with this image in my mind, here's what I've got lined up for my Goals for the Week:

Mom: Soak up all the wonder of the week. Sing, read, color, dance, imagine, and BE.

Home: Pick up house for ~30 min each day. Execute my gift wrapping plan so it's all done by the 24th.

Athlete: Be mindful of my back. I pulled something a few weeks ago, and keep lifting the kidz/heavy bags and not letting it rest.

Health: Remember my dear friend Ms. Sparkling Water at the four dinner/holiday/Santa/Xmas Eve parties we have this week. Be proactive and bring my own!

Personal Growth: Tis' the season...find tiny gestures of good will to do as they come up. Very simple. A smile, wave, open a door, let someone in front of me, a compliment. simple.

As always, I write these all on a bookmark I keep in my organizer and attempt to review it each morning as I chug my coffee and plan my day. That's what's (generally) goin' on for me. Now you? How is YOUR holiday week looking like? Would LOVE to know!

That picture seriously took my breath away with its cuteness. Really. Absolutely a time to take in and soak in the wonder of the holidays. We can learn so very much from our children.

Again, my goal this week is simple... survival. (All 4 kids are sick and I just got over what they have. And hubby is working extra for the next 2 weeks on a big project). I know I really should break it down a little more... lol. Okay, my new goal is to go make up a plan as soon as I finish this comment!

Take care of that back issue. Those things get better faster if given time right away. But I know you know that ;-)

Have a fantastic holiday!

That is a cute photo!! Maybe you could drink Kombucha at the parties? The GT Daves Ginger kombucha is delish or sparkling grape juice.

I want to read the bee keeping books that I check out.
Watch some fun movies with the kids like The grinch.
Embrace winter and work on my core, arms, and back. I have a pullup bar and mats on the basement floor right in front of the tv that is hooked up to the internet....no reason not to work out down there.
Stay caught up on the laundry. It helps heat up the house :)
Get my goals for 2011 nailed down!

I have totally been bringing Polar sparkling water at the parties. It is genius, people don't bug you to drink! If you put it in a glass with a lime in it, they don't even ask. ha

That picture is so sweet.

Gift wrapping. Yeah. I better get on that.

I have a very interesting week coming up besides Christmas but that's all I can say!
Overall- Kick Back and Enjoy!

Athlete/Health- Plan ahead and be proactive (it's going to be a long but awesome 2 weeks of "let's find a spare moment and use it!" and "let's bring my own food/drink")

Teacher- Is it awful if I say, "survive?" really... they likely don't want to be there this week....

So... Trick 'em into Learning! :-) Work with their "I just wanna hang out and chat" and have them do "hang out and chat" presentations! :-) (I'm thinkin' this will work... plus it's review... plus a grade keeps 'em on their tip-toes :-)

Or maybe I'll toss in a little EXC (Extra Credit that they've been begging me for...) :-)

Family Mem- Be supportive of the folks and the holiday endeavors

Fam Mem 2- Bring a "sanity bag" to extra long events... to stave off "too many humans in too small of a space" reality :-)

YrBk- Get the individ class photos DONE, e-mailed, edited, and also e-mail my colleagues about "stuff"- even if the timing is short ;-)

Personal Growth- Take care of me each day- even 15 minutes.. more yoga, more visualization, a long bath, whatever...

PG2- Continue the 2010/2011 reflection process... fine tune goals.. look at possibilities..etc

Home- Keep it clean...

Friend- Get those h'day cards distributed... and say "thank you" for all that has been done and appreciated. :-)

Merry Wonder Days to All :-)
ADORABLE Pic!!!! And, your goals are totally in line! Good luck sticking to your plan this week!!! :)

That is a wonderful picture! I remember the pure pleasure and excitement of Christmas as a kid, and I feel sad that I have become so jaded about this holiday season as a 30 year old. So my goal for this week is to try and recapture some of the simple pleasure that your little 'uns have. Thanks for the reminder! :-)
Oh my, what a precious picture! Love your mom goal...me too! :) Water....I can't get enough lately with all the running around. yes yes yes. Way to watch out for that back of yours! Have a great week!

what a great picture! I can remember sitting in our living room with all the lights off except for those on the christmas tree and smelling the peaceful scent of evergreen. So simple and peaceful!

I love your personal growth goal, that's something I definitely need to be more mindful of while I'm rushing from place to place. Thank you for the reminder!

My youngest is 2 1/2 and for the first time, she is over-the-moon excited about Christmas. I cannot wait. I soak in every moment of joy with her. Great goal!

That picture gives me an idea. Maybe we will all 'camp out' under the tree this year even though our kid is not a kid anymore, or so he thinks.

Sounds like you've got a great week planned! And I do remember that feeling. Very fondly. Looking forward to feeling it a bit again this weekend. But first I have to get through 4 days of work. Ugh.

That is the sweetest picture! I remember how magical Christmas seemed when I was little... I remember checking my stocking and under the tree on a daily basis as long as the decorations/tree were up, ya know, just *in case* Santa happened to make an early stop, or a second stop if he forgot anything :)

Love that picture. So cute. This season is indeed magical. Growing up we don't do Christmas all that often. So, I kinda "missed out" on the magical aspect of it. But I am sorta compensating for the "missed" Christmases now.

This week, since I will be off from school, I am planning on running and hitting my last running goal for the year. I'm going to be patient. And do something extra nice for the boyfriend/his family everyday (massage his back, share a homecooked meal with his aunt, or something like that).
