What Working and Not So Much...
What's working:
1. Did my 'speedwork' run on Mon, sans my orthotics or foot tape for the first time since my injury back in May...and it was fine! Woo-hoo! My orthotics just don't make me feel that light and speedy. So I said 'Sc#w it!', I'm gonna try running sans the orthotics and tape. So I ran my 5k and it was great. I'm so, so happy with this. So happy I asked the DH to capture the post run moment with a photo.
2. Had my follow up foot doctor appointment yesterday, and got two thumbs up on the current status and recovery of my foot. All is healing how it should be, and it's fine to run sans the orthotics, don't have to wear them all the time, and yah, I'll feel that lil' spur and it's fine. fine w/me!
3. Did the Bikram Yoga class...and sweated out approx ~5lbs of water! No, I don't know if I did that, but dang...talk about a freakin' hard workout and cleansing all at the same time! I realistically can't commit to the ~1.5hr class weekly, but I'm glad I did it, and can see me doing it more come November/December in the 'off' season (ya proud of my SSB?;-)
What's Not Working:
1. Forcing myself to sit down and do the super fun task of researching health options. oy...but it's only Weds
2. Working a few more hours than anticipated (which is fun), but it's carving into precious kid free time where I get the rest of my life stuff done- can ya relate??..;-)
That's what's currently working goin' on with me. Now, tell me... what's working and maybe not so much for you? Talk to me, talk to me!

Comments
What's not working for me--paying my estimated taxes today! I hate the task of adding up all the numbers, etc. Which is why I am commenting here and not doing it!
What's not working for me this month is getting to my Bikram class. But I'm really sore lately, which means it's time to get myself back to the studio.
Working for me is a bike ride in glorious weather.
Not working, well in the process of working I should say, is exorcising those dang raccoons from our attic!
Workin for me --- spin class. ;)
What's not working? Marathon training - I want tri training instead:)
What's not working for me this week is my nutrition. Between lack of time, planning, and energy, I think I've had a bagel w/ cream cheese for either dinner or lunch 3 times since Saturday. I need to plan better, write real grocery lists and set aside time to cook healthy stuff!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog:) I appreciate it because I don't feel like I am "doing it all" very well! I need more flipping time:) Take care Lady!
I used to do Bikram yoga and I would leave there literally drenched in sweat! I liked it, but the yoga class I take now I enjoy so much better!
Let's see...something that isn't working too well is trying to get my long run in. My youngest has been sick and I've had to keep him home from preschool. So..no long run.. Hopefully I'll get it in this weekend!
What is not working for me? Recovering from surgery. I am going NUTS from inactivity and that has to end soon.
What is working? Planning our next trip. I can't wait to get out into the mountains.
Working - tapering (less tired). Not working - tapering (freaking out!). Go figure..
What's working for me: Running with someone has worked pretty well so far. We'll see how that goes.
What's not working for me: The weather. It's still yo-yoing between hot/humid and cool/crisp air. Make it your mind already.
What is working for me? A long hiking trip with an old friend. What is not working? Training for my upcoming oly!
And boy do I miss Bikram! I could use a good sweat.
Nicely done on the workouts.
*Sunday almond recipe fun: oat almond balls and almond butter balls (both gluten free, though not dairy).
*Reflective time on the trails... understanding what's up and seeing key components for making choices.
*Core and yoga before/after long days/nights at school.
*Really, really, really amazing times with my 8th graders!!! I have one of the best jobs ever! :-)
Needs Improvement:
*Nutrition- flat out lazy on some stuff and body is revolting.
*Balance- 2 nights til 9 pm at school and a 7 am meeting... eegads! Next week will be about 4 nights of that, but there's Friday!
*Hydration before peppermints when crashing before 4th period. Must find positive solutions on handling life in a middle school... (e.g. like today- walking and taking down posters after 2 blocks).
