What's Working Wednesday: From Head to Toe

I'm feelin' a bit like Oprah magazine over here, where you only see mugg shots of yours truly on each post. Not my intent!  I end up doing so to show my idea, setting, yada yada...and you end up with a lot of pics of me!
So instead, let's start off with a different shot: My Foot! Haven't seen enough of it lately eh?
Ok, wont' show the foot today, but I will show you the Tuf-Skin tape adherent I (finally) received in the mail yesterday that I sprayed on my foot:

And it works. It definitely does it's job in making my medical tape stay put in the water. I'm still on the fence if I'm taping my foot for Vineman on Sunday, because I haven't had a chance to test it for multiple hours...we'll see..

What's also working for me is the tri top below, and wearing my hair in two ponytails (vs. braids) behind my head for the swim, bike, and run (Look! a mugg shot!):

It keeps my hair outta my face, and I still feel sorta cute (granted this mugg shot was pre-ride). And isn't feelin' cute one of the most important things in a race? (notice also, a part of my race number sticker from way back in LAVAMAN still on my freakin' helmet?!)
So that's what's working for me from Toe to Head.  And to the ladies (and possible gents) out there with longer hair: How do you wear it on race day?

Ha! That's so funny. I put my oldest is pig tails today and thought I should do this to my hair when I'm running/biking. It's too hort and layer for mu else.

Good to know about the spray adhesive!
Pigtails are the way to go :) Just make sure they are tight.

Love the Oprah comment! Your pig tails look so cute. I always wear a pony tail, but after the swim, it's never in very good shape!
Ponny tail for me, always. Also visor for the run. For the swim I part the pony tail to better fit it under the cap. You are all set. Gooooo

I remember that turf stuff from HS. They used to spray you with it before wrapping your ankle, etc. It does keep everything in place.

I have long hair, not thick enough for those nice braids I see those lucky girls wearing. I just wrestle it all into a ball at the nape of my neck (in order to get that helmet on). I've been toying with the idea of pigtails and tried it one day just wearing it around. I have to wonder if I am just too old for it...sigh....Maybe I'll just cut my hair; problem solved.

OH wait! I am new here..Vineman on Sunday? Go get 'em!! Good luck!

A blast from the high school past! The trainers used to spray this all over the place, including the receivers' hands for football. Good stuff.
That stuff brings back painful high school memories of shaving my ankles and lots of quality taping time with the trainers thanks to soccer. Glad to hear that it keeps things put in the water - will file that bit of info away for future use.

Best of luck in the race this weekend!!

Low pigtails for me, plus I throw on a headband once I'm out of the water. My curly hair goes crazy on race day, but I do my best to look cute at the finish line! :P

Woohoo for the tuf-skin...that stuff will definitely work! I like your pigtail idea, but I think my hair may be too long for it! I just put it in a ponytail, then loop most of the length back through. I know that probably doesn't make any sense, but it seems to work. I wear a visor on the run, so it doesn't really matter what shape (horrible) my hair is in b/c it's always covered up by the swim cap, helmet, and visor! :)

I have that top in purpley pink--used to love it but I wore it the other day and my beer gut was sticking out...sadly I do not drink beer.
You are adorable!

Quite often I wear two piggies...probably too often. I wish it was only when working out...it is to the grocery store, taking kids here and there...and...you get it! I love the top! I hope the spray works incredible for you on Sunday! I am so stoked for you...and me and my crew will be praying for you to have a great race! Good Luck! I am sure I will be back to wish you more Luck Later this week!

Good luck on your race. You have a good top.
I have long hair and I always put it up in a bun when I run. I dislike flinging sweat of my pigtail/ponytail.
Pigtails are cute! I wear mine in a ponytail with lots of bobby pins!

thanks for the suggestion on the spray, my husband is getting Kensiotape certified soon, that looks like a great addition for adding the tape.

I put mine in a low ponytail and braid it. If I don't braid it, it gets incredibly tangled. I like to wear a visor on the run to keep loose hair out of my face (in addition to the sun)!

I actually love the mug shots myself. You look adorable!

You look so cute, I love the pink top :) and the idea of two ponytails sounds great! Now, I still need to find this so-called tape you speak of...maybe at the SF expo perhaps. But nevertheless, glad you got something to make it stick to your foot :).
