Few Friday Fav's: Food, Fun & Fashion!

1. Food: This here's my latest and greatest protein drink. It's called Ultramet, and the Vanilla Bean flavor honestly tastes like melted vanilla ice cream. It's so dang good. AND what's even better, I use it as my sugar creamer in my coffee. YUM! So while the packaging is a lil' agro/hard core...the drink is just too good to pass up;-)
2. Fun: Doesn't this look like a riot?? I mean c'mon, starin' at a copy machine..What could be more fun? Woo-hoo! All right, lil' sarcastic here, but yesterday we went to make our Turkey Trot flyers, and the kids could not take their eyes off the printer. They were like dogs staring at a ball about to be thrown. They could've stared at it all day. Had to capture the moment...
3. Fashion: While my hair is at it's longest in history (yeah!), and can look half decent if I actually blow-dry and straighten it (pic from a party last wknd), the reality is, it usually looks like this:
I'm trying to high light the fact that I have ZERO highlights, and am left with some SERIOUS root issues! Well, today will change all that because....(drum roll please) I freakin finally have a hair color/cut appointment! Gracias dios mio!! It's been six months to the day folks. SIX months! Ladies out there...ya gotta relate to my elation! yes...yes!;)

And there ya have it! A few of my favorites for the week. Now...what's YOUR food, fun, and/or fashion favorites this week? Would love to know! Talk to me, talk to me. And also Happy Friday and Good luck all you racers out there this wknd;-)

your kids are so cute! Totally mesmerized by the copier! Do they help distribute the posters too? It's a family affair!

hope you get to relax and enjoy your hair appointment! have a great weekend!

I could see my little man thinking that a copy machine was pretty cool too:)

I love getting my hair done but there is no way that I could wait six months! My hair is darker and my roots start being an issue after week five! You are lucky:)

Have a great weekend!

GREAT pic of the kids watching the copier... it's so funny how kids are amused by things like that!!

My FOOD & FUN will be Friendsgiving dinner (Thanksgiving with friends) on Saturday night. I am sooooo excited! :)

FASHION... I got a haircut this week too. I'm the complete opposite from you -- my hair is SHORTER than it's ever been since I was about 3, and I really needed a trim.

Enjoy your weekend!
Excited about that protein shake. I like the idea of using it instead of cream/sugar.
I color my hair at home - Loreal makes a great product - and so I manage to do it every 2 weeks. That would never happen if I had to go to a salon. People think it is messy/hard to do a home job, but it is very easy!

Food Favorites: Since I am trying so hard to cut down on fast-food, my favorite has been Subway. 6 inch chicken teriyaki, pepperjack cheese, spinach, onions, bell peppers, banana peppers, lettuce and just a teensy weensy bit of sweet onion sauce.

Fun: I havent had fun this week. Unless you consider waiting on parents who never show up for conferences fun.

Fashion Favorite: Skinny jeans with flat boots. It's comfy.

go for a long run in the sun and put lemon juice on your roots, then maybe natural highlights will appear. I used to do that when I was youner, haha.

Lindsay and Ana Maria (Running and Living) you got me thinkin' i need to try both...the lemon idea and LOREAL! I just may do that for 2011;-)

My favorite food this week? Anything I can find in the fridge. Anything.
Love the pics! My fav food this week was the mediterranean pasta that my hubby made for me on my b-day...shrimp, aritichoke hearts, sundried tom, feta cheese, onions, olives...
Fav fun this week will be my night out tonight with my husband for dinner and drinks.

Love your posts!
Food- toss up between mint choc homemade granola bars, homemade pumpkin granola, or GF banana choc-chip muffins (yes, I bake and freeze... once a baker, always a baker)

Fun- Hmm... 3 days in a row (Mon- cancer volunteer, Tues- watching former kids- now HSers win a MAJOR game and hanging with their parents :-), Weds- a lovely date!

Fashion- Practical... Fridays are casual days at school, so I opted for almost full-on gym mode (with jeans). Made it easy to change and get out of the door!

Now off to bed to volunteer for a race at 630 am..and maybe cheer on our girls at a states meet!! (GO OP!!!!! :-)

Food... roasted potatoes and other veggies have really floating my boat recently. And homemade gluten-free pumpkin bread (from a mix... lol).

Fun... I think I have a similar pic of my kids at a copier ;-) But my idea of fun today was spending the day with JUST my baby! Older kids at school and picked up and fed by others... sweet.

Fashion... must be something in the air... time to color my hair, too! lol I do my own at home with a product called Naturtint (no ammonia... all "natural") that really does good grey coverage (though I do leave it on longer than recommended). And I wore earrings for the first time in who-knows-how-long. My 8-yr old daughter told me I looked beautiful and should wear earrings more. I think I'll be wearing earrings more ;-)

I also suffer from serious bouts of hair neglect. Yesterday I got my haircut for the first time in six months also. And like you, it was the longest it's ever been. Not so anymore. Chopped quite a bit off and now have bangs for the first time since, oh, elementary school? Longish ones, but bangs nonetheless. It's taking some getting used to!

My favorite food for the week has to be the seasonal Clif Bar flavors: Iced Gingerbread, Spiced Pumpkin Pie and Cranberry Orange. Yum.
Thanks for posting on the protein shake! I'm always looking for healthy ways to incorporate more protein in my diet! And, enjoy your cut and color! Yay for blonde pony's! :)

That picture of your kids is adorable!

I totally hear you on the hair thing. It's why I don't get mine coloured, despite wanting to. I can't even get there every 3 months for a cut, let alone every 6 weeks for a colour. And I don't even have kiddlies!

Your hair is soooo long! Cant wait to see it after the appointment! Lately I have been on a serious brussel sprouts kick....weird I know! I saute them and pour a little balsamic on them...yum yum!! Kale chips too - they are the best! For those of you who haven't tried them ..... put some kale on a baking sheet and add a little olive oil/ garlic salt too taste. Bake at 450 until crispy - don't let it brown! Enjoy!!!

It's been almost 2 months since my haircut and I'm going crazy - but I've got short hair, so sometimes going more than 4 weeks between haircuts seems like an eternity.

6 months is a super long time! Enjoy the cut and colour. :)

I love that your kids were so mesmerized by the copy machine! I can't wait to see the new hair.

Mine: my mom's pancakes, seeing my mom, sister, and bro-in-law this weekend, I took my sister shopping as a birthday present and got us both the same cardi just in different colors.
