GFTW 45: Mix'n It Up a Bit

This'll be short and sweet, as I got dinner to cook, beds to make, and lunches to pack...but ain't that always the case? It's always those little things that can get in the way of just sitting down for ~20 minutes to figure out what the heck I want to focus on for the week. So I sat and thought and here's what I got. I'm actually really focusing on my Wife and Community Goals and if I hit the others, well then DRATW (double rainbow all the way) man..

Goals for the Week:

Community: Make our Annual Family Fun Turkey Trot 5k Flyers and start handing them out and talkin' up the trot.

Wife: This is a running/tri blog, so maybe you'll understand. Take on our (eh-hem!) Sxx life like a new training program. Yah, I know! Sounds funny, but I often think if I gave half the attention I do for training, towards our (eh-hem!) S-life...we'd be porn stars! Okay, not really, but I'm mixin' it up and thinkin' of this as my new training program;) I know, TMI, but had to put it out there.

Home: Dinner all together 2x's this week

Athlete: 3 days ST, 3 swims (that's the real goal part), 3 runs, and 1 new type of workout this week...maybe a Pilates class, or even tennis?

Personal Growth: Explore my writing through journal writing ~2 days this week if only for 15 minutes.

That's (more or less) it for me. As always I write these down on a book mark I keep in my organizer and attempt to review it each morning as I chug my coffee.  Now...I'd love, love, love to hear what YOU've got tee'd up for the week. Talk to me, talk to me.

OH! And also, SO fun to see 25ONE Brady Bunch Crew Members on Board the GFTW Express! So Fun! Puh-leez let me know if I haven't popped over to your blog yet , as I love seeing/'meeting' new bloggy peeps. tell me por favor;)

AND

P.S (If ya haven't entered the LUNA Protein Bar Giveaway, do so now by clicking here! Winner will be announced tomorrow. These are my latest and greatest go-to snack;-)

Guess this post ain't as short and sweet as expected. Aw well...can't blame me right?

We're trying to figure out our Turkey Trot run too. We used to go to a real race, but it's just gotten too big. Now, we just do a family run on our own and we have a blast!
Umm...I hear you on the wife goal...nuff said!

Have a great week! :)

Love this post. Very honest.
It's not easy balancing and juggling our athletic role and our womanly role. I mean, after my long runs, my knee hurts, my legs hurt, and I am always worrying about doing things to cause/exacerbate my injuries which will in turn, prevent me from running. And if I don't run, I feel so grumpy.
You know what I am getting at?

Have a good week - it sounds like you will be busy - wink wink
Great Goals. Journal writing is a great way to stretch yourself as a writer and take risks. My goal is to get back on track with my diet and exercise after a girlfriend weekend in Napa. Too much wine and food!

Love that you put your wife goal out there! It's not TMI, I think it's probably precisely the information many women need. It's the fact we still feel embarrassed to talk about these things that makes them weigh heavily on our shoulders..

My priority this week should be a work goal, but I know that'll get done come rain or shine. So instead, it's going to be personal growth: get my work done without it being at the cost of my health and happiness.

Have a great week! :-)

Think I need to borrow a couple of your goals! Definitely the wifey one ;-) My goals for this week are to sleep more, eat more (still good stuff), inch my mileage up, stay centered and grounded when I come up against obstacles, be punctual more often and make sure that I show my family that I LOVE them!

Funny about the sxx life and training:) I am nodding my head in agreement! Our poor hubbys!

I am looking for a smaller turkey trot/run for November. Last year I ran one but it was huge and it drove me bonkers:)

Have a great week! Hugs!

Just make sure you have enough gels and salt tablets for those eh-hem...sessions!

Bahahaha...wonder if he's going to be handing out a medal? Or a shirt? A bagel...or something.

You're a gem. Your honesty and TMI is priceless!

ehem... love the wife goal!
Love that I read this moments before the 6th graders walked down the hall.. if only they knew why I was laughing inside! :-)

Way to prioritize and (as another person said above) thank you for being open... to the extent you are comfortable.

We really do have some unique perspectives in this country.

Enjoy your week! :-)
