GFTW 40: It's all About Support Baby...

It's really feeling like Fall over here. Lovin' it. And It's gonna be a good week. Heck, I think it's gonna be a good month. Looking at my calendar, I've got my sprint tri next weekend, my BF from LA up for a wknd, my half marathon, and pumpkin/Halloween adventures w/my four yr olds to top it off. But back to this week. Looking at what I want to do...it's about offering help and support in many of my roles in life.

So I'll just get to it. Here's what I've got lined up for my Goals for the Week:

Athlete: I have two friends racing the Tri Girl Tri sprint this coming weekend with me. Woo-hoo! And for one gal...it's her first tri EVER! So I want to help her out as much as possible. I'm lending her my road bike, and want to give all the guidance/support needed. And I want to embrace us 3 chicks taking on the tri together!;).

Friend: Set up a block of ~2hrs to help a friend out w/her newborn. I'll watch the lil' guy, while she gets a pedicure or something. Also, drop off dinner for them this week.

Mom: Put out feelers to see if a 5wks to a 5k! run/walk program for the mom's at my kiddos pre-school is desired.

Community: Participate in a Jog-a-thon at a local elementary school this week. Also, get my fund raising papers in order for the local Girls on the Run program I'm involved with.

Personal Growth: Do at least one simple act of kindness each day. Be it a stranger or family member. Last week, having this idea in my head really helped me look at so many things during my day in a brighter and kinder light.

That's it for me! As always, I write these down on a book marker I keep in my organizer and attempt to review it each morning as I chug my sugar coffee. Now, how about you? What do you have on your radar for the week. Would LOVE to know;)

awesome goals! Let me know how the "feelers" feel about the 5k program. I tried to get one going here in the mommy group but met a wall FULL of "yes...buuut" excuses. I think my approach might have been wrong :(

You are always such a good person! That is so inspiring.

I am involved in getting our first local GOTR 5k underway this Dec. We have been planning and planning some more. How cool when it is all put into place!

Have a great week!

AM, you're a great role model for us! Each time that I read your GFTW, I have another good idea for myself and am inspired by your generosity! Thanks!

BTW, I just signed up for the next volunteer workshop for my local GOTR. I'm pretty excited about it even though I don't yet know exactly what I will work on. Maybe, I can get some tips from you and misszippy, since you guys are already involved. Very cool!
Writing- Write 3 pieces this week and journaly at least 4-5 times

Reflect on where things need to go, improve, etc.

Research avenues for publishing.

Athlete- Trail runs 3 times; pool once; yoga 4 or more times

Teacher- balance creativity and structure; consider making a Vocabulary Graffiti wall with appropriate vocab only! :-)

Co-worker- stop by R's room and drop a happy note/listen and/or be there at the volleyball game and give him a hard time while cheering on our girls! :-) (3 wks post step-son's death... things hit hard...)

Volunteer- Decide if working Halloweeny Fat Ass or MCM...and figure out specs for the weekend.

Happy Journeys to All

We've got our jogathon coming up too. It's so fun to run with the kids. I love how they all start out in a mad sprint.

You are such a generous person. I'm sure your friend really appreciate that few hours of "me" time.
Have a wonderful week ahead.
Ooh, it's going to be a busy week for you!

It is marathon week for me finally! Bring it!
I'm also training a girl scout troop who will be doing their first 5k to raise funds for Lupus--sniff-I'm so proud of them!

I love your goals for the week! Your friend with the newborn will be so appreciative of any help. Don't let her tell you she doesn't need anything...just do it for her regardless of what she says! :)
I would love to be a part of GOTR, but just have figured out how to make it work...yet!

You are such an inspiration, AM! I love your goals and how centered they are on helping others out!

My goals for the week are to get my runs in and to slog through a ton of grading. I'm also going to set a goal to do something kind for at least one person each day. I love that goal so much!

Those are all such great goals AM!

My big one is prep for the Chicago Marathon on Sunday: get to bed early; get 8 hours/sleep each night; pack!!!

My goal for post-racing season (one week from today) is to put more thought into goals and try to come up with some more meaningful self-development ones... thanks for all of the inspiration! :)

How exciting that you get to help introduce your friend to triathlons! I am so thankful to my friends who taught me about the sport and all the fun that it has brought over the last two years. I hope your week goes well.

I just LOVE your goals!
Do you care if I start to list goals on Mondays...of course linking it to you! Of ALL the things that spread...this is my favorite! How amazing if everyone started to make goals like this! The world would be a better place!
Your such a GREAT example!

It's begining to feel like fall here. In fact, one of my goals for the week is to get my oldest a new uniform sweater for school. The temps are in the low 60's in the morning.

Sounds like a great week ahead!

I would like to spend more time in God's Word this week, have a good 10 mile run this week to prepare for my 1/2, and get clothes organized for colder temps.
