Ten Topics Turning in my Toboggan!

1. I am convinced you cannot simultaneously have a clean house and actively train for an event.
2. Having TWO new pairs of running shoes is the bomb
3. Here is my Creativity Collage I did ~2 wks ago as part of my Creative Energy Teleclass. I'm trying to journal about it 1x a wk
4. Getting to a yoga class @ 6 or 7pm is hard when you have 4 yr olds
5. I'm thinking of taking a few clients again with personal training
6. Here's a pic of all the loot I won at Teammarcia's fabulous giveaway! Look at all of those socks, LaraBars and Gu. And again, I love my necklace;-)

7. Doing my speedwork still sucks the big one ;-)
8. Today's the last chance to enter my Athleta $150 Giftcard Giveaway!

9. I can't BELIEVE it's the last day of August!

10. YOU fill in the blank. What's Turning in Your Toboggan?: ____________________

The Team Marcia giveaway is pretty impressive. Enjoy your swag!

In my toboggan this week? keeping a balanced life is hard, but worth the effort.
You did win a lot of loot! Cool!!

I'm a Mental Health Counselor (in WA, about to move to NC where it will be an LPC) but I will be taking about 3 more classes to sit for my MFT so that if my hubby and I move to Cali (he's from Berkeley and wants to go to Sanford Med school or UCSF) then I can actually get a job...ugh, more school! As you mentioned it is hard enough to have a clean house while training, through in parenting, military wifing, working and school and I will have a straigh up pig stye!!! Oh well! =) I'm exhausted just thinking of all that!!

I LOVE that the pic you have in the center of your collage (yoga/athleta girl on her elbows)is the one I have in my fitness folder for inspiration!!
1- I given up trying till the off season

7- Ugh, i agree 100%

10 - just trying to muster enough energy to make it to the end of the season
i love this post. We all have a lot to juggle. As I was doing my trail run this morning, I was wondering if I really could "add" something to my schedule this fall. My policy has been to keep it simple while I learn how to handle (well) what I have going on. It's so tempting to add more, but when I took a moment to reflect - what I really want to do is go deeper and enjoy more fully what I have. That, I think, is the real challenge.

And yeah, I'm so excited you are thinking of sharing your personal training skills with others!

Love the collage...and the swag!

I've found that while I don't necessarily like having a messy home, its when its a mess that we are the most happy and fulfilled. I try not to let it bother me because I know that we are spending our time on activities we love to do.

I think it great you might be doing PT. Wish I lived closer. :)

#1 - can't agree more!
#2 - sounds great. What is NOT the bomb is having a brand new pair of running shoes that you're dying to try out (Newtons!) but aren't supposed to run for ~2 weeks post-Ironman.
#10 - would it really be that bad if I took an easy, short run in my new shoes this week? -AND- Did I really do Ironman Louisville on Sunday?! -AND- I really don't feel like being at work right now. I'd rather look for IM Louisville related articles/race reports, discussion threads, and catch up on blog reading/writing.

Totally agree with #1 and 2!
#10: I wonder how my long 16M run is going to go tomorrow. It's the furthest I will have ever run and I'm a little nervous about it!

My tobbagan is overflowin'!!! I've got a sprint sunday (Labor day weekend at Disney-can you say CHAOS?)

Big test before I leave Friday afternoon, working extra at the office, piles of laundry and a dirty stinky dog await me at home today, and I'm going to start my half-mary training next week.

::sigh:: I feel better!

I would love to have a clean house, training or not but there is always something more interesting to do. Like reading blogs ;)
Creativity collage sounds like a wonderful idea. I might try it, which would be another thing keeping me from having a clean house.
Cool post.

Yes, it's becoming clear to me that, even with more time on my hands, my house and it's order is still going to be low on the priority list! Can't wait to hear that I won that card!

I really enjoyed this post. I kinda stole your idea and used it for my latest post. Maybe, we can start a trend! Clean houses are overrated. Love your collage. Good luck with new clients, I think you would be a great personal trainer!!

#1 is exactly what's running through my mind right now. I just forced myself to clean the kitchen, but I'm so stinkin tired from getting up at 4:30am for some runs and spending hours at the gym for others that I just can't seem to keep up with the house now. Ugh.

Two new pairs of running shoes? YEAH!
And August did go by way too fast...
I'm convinced it's not possible to have a clean house and prepare for ANYTHING.

Congrats on that swag!
